Employees of Indiana Machine Works
A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Indiana Machine Works, in Mooresville Indiana, is an industry leader
with a unique focus on the designing and/or manufacturing of
specialty machinery, prototypes, product components, tooling and
fixtures to a global customer base. The Company is the derivative
concern of Laboratory Equipment Corp (LABECO), an internationally
significant company founded in 1943 in the field of automotive and
aerospace testing machines. It initially produced a single cylinder
engine and test stand for the development of aviation fuels during
WWII. After the war the engine was selected by the Society of
Automotive Engineers (SAE) as the sole engine for rating sparkplugs.
It remains in the product line and is in use by companies in Europe,
Asia, and the US in the ongoing development and quality control of
sparkplugs. The Company is currently working with Purdue University,
the SAE Ignition Standards Committee, and interested vendors on new
test uses for the engine.
Because of its experience in engine power management, LABECO became
the leader in the development of automotive chassis dynamometers
used worldwide by major automotive and oil companies such as GM,
Ford, Chrysler, Porsche, Fiat, Toyota, KIA, and Texaco for engine
and drive train development as well as emission tests. LABECO
produced more of these computer controlled mileage accumulators than
any other company in the world. During the 1970s LABECO began to
design and build test stands for helicopter transmissions and
propeller gearboxes and jet engine accessory drives. This led to
developing further types of test stands for such companies as
Boeing, TRW, and Caterpillar for their use in rating a variety of
components used in their products. In 2000 Indiana Machine Works
also began the successful development of contract manufacturing and
CNC machining of components for many other companies that value high
quality workmanship, reliable delivery, and experienced engineering
support.
The Company's employees are proud of the history in the designing
and manufacturing of specialty machinery, prototypes, product
components, tooling and fixtures. The Company also specializes in
CNC machining of parts for a wide variety of customers involved in
the automotive, aerospace, medical, construction, and food service
industries. Our 31,000+ square foot facility and broad range of
machinery allows our talented staff to perform large and small
precision machining, metal fabrication, structural steel welding,
painting, plus electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic
assembly.
The Company has an excellent reputation for quality performance and
all our employees are committed to working together as a team with
our customers to help them achieve increased productivity and an
improved bottom line.
